It's called forced choice.  I found it useful to give me a metric of
myself, if pushed to the wall.  I was surprisingly proscriptive (.2, .4,
.8).  You can think of it as how we'd all react if Ashcroft, Rummy, and
Osama have their way and get to fully shape the world.  We won't like the
world we have to live in.

Hmm, the world as a corny sci-fi plot...  I think I'll make my hero a
half-Jewish Knight Templar in Post-democratic America.  Sounds about right.
