RS> There is a pretty simple mod you can do which goes between the phone RS> and the phone line which prevents the phone picking the line up. RS> There is a commercial Austel approved one too, outrageously priced RS> for what it is tho, $40 from memory. BL> Thanks for telling me that, Rod, but you forgot to tell me what the BL> mod is. BL> This information is as useful as a spare rat in a rat plague. I see you still have all your natural charm and diplomacy about you |-) It wasnt clear if you wanted to do an illegal mod to the phone system which could in theory cost you $12K if you get caught with it, say dear mum calls Telecom to report a fault while you are out/away and accidentally dobs you in. Its pretty trivial to lash up. Basically the voltage on the phone line is quite high with all the phones on hook. If any phone is off hook the voltage on the phone line drops to a much lower one. I was going to suggest one of the mag kits, but then you know they never work so there isnt much point in suggesting one of those. --- PQWK202* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/934 @PATH: 711/934 |
