I did that for a few years as well and it's more practical 
now with the BIOS enabled power saver features on this machine that 
seem perfectly content with both Windows and Linux.
Still at 4 dollars at Radio Shack I shall pick up the
CR2032 coin cell. I've only secured the CD-ROM with a single 
screw until that time so I can push it forward and will only 
completely button up the machine in March when the new drive is put in.
