subject: APL2 FOR OS/2

In a message dated 01-15-99, Ivan Todoroski said to David Noon:

IT> And what about APL? Is it abandoned?

There are still several companies developing APL development systems,
including IBM who has just recently released APL2 for Windows systems. I
would suggest you pick up the news group comp.lang.apl and look for the FAQ
posting. There are several versions of APL available for free trial
purposes, including IBM's Try APL2 package which is a DOS package that will
run under Windows in a full screen. In most cases a full screen session is
needed to program, as the character set is not available in a windowed
session. Running programs does not need the APL character set and run time
modules can be generated with the full system.
