The Orioles beat the Indians 7-4 today, as they again went 3 for 7 with a sac
fly with runners in scoring position. Scott Erickson pitched five dominating
innings, faltered in the sixth, and left in the seventh with a 4-3 lead. The
Indians had the bases loaded with none out in the eighth, but managed only
one run off Armando Benitez. The Orioles loaded the bases with none out in
the bottom of the eighth. Surhoff hit a comebacker, which was turned into a
force at home, but Sandy Alomar made a bad throw to first. The Orioles wound
up scoring three times, and Myers retired the Indians in order in the ninth.
