Well did everyone take a break these past few weeks? We did and didn't. We
were very relaxed here and the kids did some computer things, when they felt
like it and watched Discovery and stuff. Maybe a couple hours here and
here.
They mostly did it on their own. One day they asked if they could do school.
We started. I had them write a paper. A true story. We did not correct it
or anything. I guess they felt they needed to charge their brain. Right
after they wrote their paper they decided to play Sim City 2000. That is
a game where you build a city. They love that game because you have to
get the city set up for people to move in. If you don't have all the right
stuff they mite get disinterested and move out. This is great Science thing
for environments. It is a way for them to figure out what is needed for a
city to survive. Power houses and electricity etc. What needs to be
connected
to what. They did some cooking and money management, since we were so broke
after my husbands surgery we had to figure what we could afford to buy and
what we couldn't. Their brother from Jackson came for a week and they played
guessing the countries on the map. Well he would name a country and they
had to find it. They drew flags. All was just fun learning pretty much. No
real big deal, so they felt like it wasn't really school at all. I really
didn't plan on any of that, but most of it was done on their own. I guess
they just couldn't stop going to school.
Hope things went well for ya all.
