| subject: | Algol 68-R ... Not!!! |
In a message dated 01-20-99, Andrew Grillet said to David Noon about "APL2 for OS/2" Hi Andrew, AG>I suspected I was not opening myself up for months of work. My suggested AG>project for an ICL1900 emulator did not get much further. Shame really - AG>I would have got an Algol68 compiler out of it! But that would have been ALGOL 68-R, the Royal Radar Establishment compiler from 25+ years ago. The OCCL compiler for OS/2 is much nicer than that. Besides which, it is _genuine_ ALGOL 68, not a variant. I think I will cook up some ALGOL 68 code this weekend, after I have done my tax return, just for you. Ye olde Gaussian elimination, perhaps?
