To perhaps clarify further, could you tell us what this gaggle of chargers
is/are for?  
 
Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, and if so, please forgive me. There are a
bazillion different   
rechargable batteries, and a fairly similar number of chargers. The only
one you need to be   
concerned with is the one for the camera you have (or will have). That
said, you'll have to   
supply that info yourself. As others have mentioned, AA batteries are quite
common, and there   
are a host of proprietary batteries. My Nikon uses one of them, the Kodak
my wife has uses AAs.  
I don't know what the Sonys use.  
 
As for the fragility of the chargers, I have three different ones here, and
have not found any   
of them to be overly fragile.  
 
Are we getting closer?
