The NHL finnaly opened training camp for this year. I am following the
Vancouver Canucks camp, and I can't wait untill the season starts. The
Canucks are going to have one screwed up camp this year. They have three NHL
calibre goalies competing for two jobs, and if they don't trade one, they
have to give him away for nothing.
Plus, Pavel Bure has requested a trade, but now says (after a closed door
meeting with Pat Quinn) he will go to camp and is happy to be there. I
suggest that in that meeting, Quinn told Bure to play somewhere around 20
games, and that way other clubs will see how he plays, and with any luck, he
will be back to his lod self, and Vancouver will be able to get something
good for him.
Also, this being Messiers first year as a Canuck, we should see early if he
has the expected impact on the players effort that is so neccessary for the
club to win.
Not to mention the fact that neither Bret Hedican nor Alex Mogilney has a
contract for next year. So we should be seeing trades left and right, and
hold outs. and with all this, we are supposed to see an elevated work ethic
due to the fact that Mark Messier is here.
If you are following any NHL clubs in training camp, I would like to hear
about it, so respond to this.
