Here's a weird one. When my wife worked for Hennepin county here in
Minneapolis, they paid employees by check to cover parking costs in a
parking ramp. She paid a large amount of money each month to hire a
driver to visit foster homes around the county. That was as it should
be, but, even though her driver sometimes used the ramp, they would not
give my wife the parking ramp credit since she did not park her own car
there. That was a long time ago, and I don't think that would happen
today, or at least it would be challenged. I think we need to pay our
own way, but we shouldn't neglect considering what is being paid to
others.
