In a message dated 01-07-99, mark lewis said to David Noon about "emx 0.9d" Hi mark, ml>hahahaha, forgive me for laughing but it was as simple as ml> unzip \dwnlds\emx09d.zip \temp ml> unzip \temp\*.zip ml>or something equally simplistic... it took longer for me to ml>edit my config.sys file and reboot than it did the actual ml>unzipping >> The install instructions for 0.9b, which I have in front of me, ran 8 pages of A4 (U.S. Letter, more or less) paper. That install took the better part of an hour. ml>actually, i as can tell, emx and gcc are already made... That has changed significantly. My copy of 0.9c required an earlier copy be installed to build it. That install was even more convoluted than 0.9b. ml>i was attempting to make dmake to test that... i have been ml>back thru it more and i think i need header files from some ml>toolkit?? EMX contains its own version of the OS/2 header files. I don't know what else DMAKE might need to compile. ml>oh yes... like i say above, i've actually compiled some few ml>things with it but until i can get dmake or bake or ml>something that works to make with, i'm kinda lost... i ml>remember reading about bake when it came out... if it'll ml>work with "normal" make files, maybe i'll try to bake ml>everything instead of making them... i like cooking better ml>than i do laboring anyway, hahaha... Yes, bake is quite a handy make utility, and the makefiles are a doddle to code. You can take an existing makefile and reduce it to bake format very easily.
