i think that the difference is like driving yourself, as against flying
in an airliner. in the latter case, there are all sorts of people around
to make sure that you don't come to any harm, in the former, it is all
up to you, no one is there to prevent you from driving off a cliff if
you misread the road sign. i, being a hacker by nature hate writing in
ada or pascal, but when i fly i do hope to hell that the software in the
'plane's autopilot was written in one of these.
