The difference is from the chip/processor that controls the flow of data.
1.1 is obsolete except for printers, mice, and keyboards. And maybe for
printers for larger jobs.
1.1 hubs are being dumped by hiding the standard and poor spec. They're
not worth the $10-$15 savings, unless you know your needs are truly
minimal and will be.
