It was a "bad news, good news" sort of day. More economic data was
released that drove prices down this morning, and then the petroleum
inventory was released. That took the wind out of the oil speculators'
sails. Oil fell -5%, and stocks recovered. Prices and volume were up
modestly, volume +5% above average, which continues to climb.

Remember what I said about being careful of your math yesterday?
POP QUIZ! Close your books and get out a pencil and paper.

In the morning a train runs between a local town and the nearest big
city which are 60 miles apart. But this is the "milk run", picking up
milk and produce at every stop along the way. It takes three hours,
averaging only 20MPH. But in the evening it makes the commuter run
home, straight through, in an hour, averaging 60MPH. What's its average
speed for the round trip? GO!

Timing Signals: I don't use or recommend timing signals, but they're
fun to watch. If I did though, well, I might use something like this.
(Be warned!! It tends to whipsaw around signal points!)

Last Signal: SELL Date: 04/08/05 S&P: 1181
Winner or Loser: loser By: -10
