The upstairs neighbor fed strays and one would consistantly
attack my Pit Bull with me getting cutup protecting his
eyes. Also got _cat scratch fever_ with my fingers swelling up
*very* painfully with my sleeping with the right arm sticking
up overnight to reduce swelling. Further I'm allergic to cats.

I'm familiar with those having got rather badly sliced and diced
protecting the Pit. The Pit also got rather badly cut up
and though he looked quite ferocious with all the blood dripping
from his snout but it was all _his_ blood.

Before I placed the baits it was quite interesting to watch
the dog. See Spanky grew up with cats with previous owner.
Spanky at first was quite gentle with mice being curious but
soon picked up on my hostility towards them and he would
patiently wait motionless ready to pounce for up to 90
minutes until the emboldened mouse made a move... than splat
the Pit would expire the unwelcome visitor by smashing it.
My Pit Bull is a mouser :-)
It was funny watching him with his ears stuck up waiting
motionless for a victem just as a cat would.
I'd hear the dog rush in the night, retrieve and flush the corpse.
Moves pretty darn fast for a ten year old to terminate a mouse!

I'm getting a color balanced one and of the type intended to
replace a regular bulb rather than tube type.
For detailed work I have magnifying glasses and a small 12 volt
jury rigged incandescent trouble lamp. Need to rig one with flex neck
 and reflector.
A small low volt halogen with reflector and gooseneck will be ideal.
