From: Adam http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2006/08/04/nmid04.xml The truth about this will out. Reminds one somewhat of Suez..... Firstly wrt Blair... "A former senior ambassador, Sir Rodric Braithwaite, claimed Mr Blair's "total identification'' with US policy had wrecked Britain's influence abroad and increased the likelihood of terrorism at home. Writing in the Financial Times, he said Mr Blair's premiership had descended into "scandal and incoherence'' and he should resign immediately." Time for memoirs & speaking tours of the US (the prospect of which may be directing Blair's foreign policy at the mo). Anyway...onto the meat.... "According to the New Statesman magazine, Mr Blair was informed in advance of the Israeli attack on Lebanon, but did nothing to stop it. It claimed the Israelis told President George W Bush of their plans to "destroy" Hizbollah by bombing villages in southern Lebanon. He in turn informed the British." I'll bet though that the Israelis never mentioned wiping out Lebanon's infrastructure from north to south. But hey agree to someone unleashing the dogs of war & you just have to keep smiling for the camera & putting out fake statements of concern & crocodile tears.
