It wouldn't last a month, even if the Arabs disarmed as well.

But I know that imposing secular control over territory based on religion
and routinely denying other religions' rights is never going to work,
especially for a minority.  The other side of the coin is somewhere like
Saudi Arabia, where the religious majority control the land and the
minority is simply oppressed - which is just as bad.

Christ formulated "Give unto God what is God's, and give unto Caesar
what is Caesar's."

Letting the terrorists win in 1948 was the big mistake.
