Since you are a Librarian... or at least an employee. Can you tell me
why Libraries in some areas will not allow a simple "flier" for a
Fidonet BBS to be posted on their bulletin board (the ones with thumb
tacks, not computer :)?

I made up a flier for my BBS and with the thought of promotion, went
to the local library in my town and a couple of towns close by. The
idea was to simply put the flier on the bulletin board there and let
people see it.

I asked the Librarian about posting the flier. In each case, I was
turned down due to the fact that the flier stated a "for sale" echo in
the message are list. I understand the "non-commercial" ads policy, but
these same libraries offer Internet access and have fliers on their
cork boards for "non-profit" organizations. I mean, damn, The people
that work in those "non-profits" get paid. I don't get jack squat. In
fact, I pay the bills to offer my BBS to the public and taxes to
support the stinking library.

In thinking that the "for sale" area was the problem, I took that out
of the flier. I went back and the librarian refused to see me. The
clerk, or whatever the helpers are called, took the filer back to the
librarian and it was refused again.
