because parsing the first part of the msgid is wrong... the first part should
be used directly as is with no parsing or interpreting being done at all...
this discussion has come up many times in the past and every time it was
pointed out that parsing of the first part is wrong... when the parsing was
removed, then everything generally worked as desired... this has generally been
seen as a case of software trying to be too smart or clever...
