IMO, your really reading too much into a primary.  By the same reasoning I
could say (and I don't believe it is true) that Cynthia McKinney was booted
from her seat due to the continual bashing of Bush.  In both of these
primary elections, which have a whole different voting block then general
election, the situation isn't so easily boiled down.
