On 06/06/15 13:23 (GMT-0400) Michael DeBusk apparently typed: > Boot manager is 1, the XP primary is 2, the extended partition would be 3, and > the first logical in that would be 4... wouldn't it? Am I missing something? The MBR partition table has space allocated for exactly 4 partitions. As a consequence, Linux always begins the count of logicals at 5, regardless how many primaries exist, or which position in the MBR is held by the extended, which could be any of 1-4, depending on the original partition creation order and the partitioning tool used. -- "All have sinned & fall short of the glory of God."
