The MBR partition table has space allocated for exactly 4 partitions. As
a consequence, Linux always begins the count of logicals at 5,
regardless how many primaries exist, or which position in the MBR is
held by the extended, which could be any of 1-4, depending on the
original partition creation order and the partitioning tool used.
