subject: Access TCP/IP

Hey Francois,

CA> Can anyone tell me how to access TCP/IP? Any good books out
CA> there on TCP/IP programming? Any FAQ's? I want to write a NTTP
CA> server, but don't know, or understand how TCP/IP works.

FT> I have a book called "the internet bible", M. Tischer
FT> and B. Jennrich, published by Data Becker. That's in
FT> german, but I would be very surprized if it hadn't been
FT> translated to english. That should give you some
FT> foundations for anything related to the internet.
FT> Then of course, you can look up the relevant RFC for
FT> NTTP and TCP/IP (they are included on the cdrom which
FT> comes with the book too).

I've got the relivent RFC's already. I guess what I mean, is how
do I access the TCP/IP stack? How do I use the TCP/IP? I understand how
to write the server, but just don't know how to get it to work with TCP/IP
I guess I could say. Is it some type of standard input/output at a address
in memory, or what? Do I need a TCP/IP lib? That type of stuff.

        Chris
