to Grant Batdorf:
Having confronted Dr. David, Howard Brazee, International Man Of Mystery,
exclaimed:

GB> Do you remember the old Colorado Rockies Uniforms from back in the
 GB> late '70's/ early '80's ?
DR> Hey those uniforms were pretty cool, absolutely loved the logo.
HB> Except they were the Denver Rockies. I wish I still had a jersey, I
                          ^^^^^^
 HB> could wear
HB> it to Colorado Avalanche games and to Colorado Rockies games.
Where on Earth did you get the idea they used to be called the
Denver Rockies? There were most certainly called the Colorado Rockies.
All my old hockey books from that era called them the Colorado Rockies,
all my old hockey cards from that era called them the Colorado Rockies,
the NHL Official Guide & Record Book calls them the Colorado Rockies,
the Encyclopedia Britannica Book of the Year publications from that era
called them the Colorado, old newspaper and magazine articles from that
era called them the Colorado Rockies, Don Cherry, who coached the team
for one season calls them the Colorado Rockies, and certainly I, who has
been an avid watcher of the game since 1975 the year when the Kansas City
Scouts moved to Denver, certainly knew them as the Colorado Rockies.
You must be the only person on this planet who thought they were
called the Denver Rockies. What did you think the `C' in their logo
stood for?
                                     Sincerely Yours

                                     David G. Riess
