Phil,

You really have been acting like an asshole regarding the U.S. lately. I =
am willing to bet the British troops have the same protections from = local
prosecution that the U.S ones do. And this is far from anything = new. I
can't attest for WWII or earlier, but I can for the Korean War, = as I was
stationed in Korea shortly after local prosecutions were = allowed.

Once the local government is "stable" the U.S. military and
consulate = negotiate a time whereupon U.S. military can be tried under
local = jurisdiction. Do you really want some local popinjay court in a
country = that is unstable trying your countrymen?

But what really pisses me off Payne is your implied assumption that this =
means U.S. soldiers who commit crimes against Iraqis get a "get out of
= jail free" card. There already prosecutions going on of US military
= personnel in Iraq for crimes, did the Wermacht do the same?
