I've encountered an old version of WP, namely WP 5.1 for DOS, whose user no
longer has the reference manual. I was able to figure out most of the
settings and things, with two exceptions: (1) the startup switches, which I
found in a couple books in a used book store, and also by trying switches I
knew were available for later versions. Curiously, the /ws option worked as
expected, but wasn't mentioned in either book I found that listed the startup
switches. (2) How to create a "directory alias" (a descriptive name for a
directory). I figured out how to make long (descriptive) filenames and list
files by those without any difficulty, but I couldn't figure out how to make
descriptive names for directories (in 6.0 and later versions, this is a built
in feature I'm familiar with). The online help said to consult the reference
manual, in "directories", which was not an option. I found EIGHT books on
Word Perfect 5.1 for DOS and earlier versions in the used book store, but
NONE of them mentioned directory aliases. What's the secret?
