I guess it depends on how much your guitar is worth. It's not a matter of IF
the airlines will destroy your guitar in a regular case, it's a matter of
WHEN. It the guitar is only worth $300-400 and you don't absolutely love it,
it may make more sense to gamble rather than spend $200-250 for a flight
se.
All the same, if you decide to gamble, I'd wrap the hard shell case in bubble
pack, and put it in a study box. Label it "URINE SAMPLE", slap a biohazard
sticker on it, and put the address as "AIDS, Antrax, and Ebola Research Labs,
C/O Bill Riley"
Not that I'm paranoid when trusting my guitar to some ham-handed stranger or
anything.
