If as a result of some of my physiucal or emotional problems I have
screwed up sleep patterns you are not responsible for how I respond to them.
I wish I could remember the call. It takes about a minute or so for me to
become huminoid. If its 1 in the after noon and I get woke up, then I get
wokie up. I may not be in condition to continue on the phone but thats not
your fault. Its mine.

I take cash for techie calls but with close friends or folks I know who
are disabled anbd house bound, a decent meal does the same thing. I set up
[from scratch-from parts] a p5-133 for a quad on a respirator [permanently]
who could use a mouth stick. I started at 9:30 and finished at about 18:00.
Her aide fed me a soup and cheese snadwich for lunch, and we had delmonico
steakes [which are very reasonable priced locally] and asparigus I had
brought for supper. in addition they provided diet pepsi. It probably cost
about $11.00 for the three of us. She felt the price was right, I bought
the parts in places where I get discounts as Bear Consulting, used a used
Supra fax/modem 14.400 modem that had come out of my main machine when I put
the USR V.Everythiing in [ever notice how decent modems seem to pile up as
you upgrade to the next line of fancy go-fast goody?]. It cost her about
$1100 with a used 21 inch hi-def monitor bought from another client who was
upgrading and agreed to help with this project [he sold it at the IRS
salvage value at its 3 yr deppreciation point-still darned good monitor].
How much was that job worth? nothing, because she could not have been
able to afford it even at Packard Bell Prices [barf-yuck-gag-ker-plop]. As
result she got a machine that will probably last for a good number of years
and I wrote a text file on what/why and anyone can fix a bad part or
malfunction.
What did I get out of the job? Two meals, company while I ate [not common
in my life]. 2 liters of diet pepsi, some candy, popcorn, and a cat sitting
on my shoulders supervising the construction.
