Your Pentium has the 16550As then? (mine reports 16550AF, not
sure what the 'F' is for?).

I think the DOS utility DIAG445 linked at my website would tell
you or SySoft Sandra for W9x? Check my 'hardware' link, the
diagnostics apps are linked on that page.

I've already mentioned I'm not real comfortable with that idea
after I forgot to umount a floppy before exiting BasicLinux and
trashed the thing. If I'd be using one of my FAT partitions I
would've been _really_ upset! 

btw: BasicLinux v2.0 is alpha testing as of last night
(SlackWare v7.1 based). Steven is optimistic about a March
completion date right now. :-)
