"Be careful what you wish for, you might get it."

Rita panicked the oil pits, prices made a record jump. One of the
problems is those oil rigs in the gulf that are floating, not on stilts,
just anchored to the Gulf floor. They rely on pipes just laying on top
of the Guld floor. So shoving one of those out of position, dragging
anchors and chains across the floor is going to rip up a lot of piping.

So what's the issue here? It's that Wall Street's demand for profits
has caused business to invest as little as possible to produce as much
profit as possible. It would have cost extra to bury those pipes. That
has made our domestic production very fragile. And the only thing we
can do about it is more research on the companies we invest in, to see
if they're doing the job right for their long term viability, or just
stripping off the easy profits. Still, cash is dandy too.

Koslowski and Swartz found out easy money is very costly--they're going
to do hard time! About time.

We'll find out what the Fed thinks about it all tomorrow afternoon.

So, as Rita develops and oil prices skyrocket, Wall Street was
introduced to the consequences of it's demands. Prices went straight
down all day. It was nearly a "Distribution" day. Prices dropped
nearly half-way to a significant change, on volume nearly 10% above
average. Close, but not quite.

Timing Signals: I don't use or recommend timing signals, but they're
fun to watch. If I did though, well, I might use something like this.
(Be warned!! It tends to whipsaw around signal points!)
