There is now -stable- in CVS and all of it now compiles on 64-bit Ubuntu ...

As for why 64-bit Ubuntu, I wanted to install the 32-bit version, but my 
DVD-Writer does not like the 32-bit CD, and it reads the 64-bit one fine, and 
I'll be "buggered" if I know why ...  , it is read
fine by the drive in 
another system ...

So far, so good, in my first 64-bit system ...
