What you are doing, is saving a file with an extension that OS/2 is
unable to define to a "natural" application should you DLMB on that
file in future i.e. what application to launch should this file need
to be worked on - I think there are a number of ways, but I've used the
freeware application "Association Editor" which can be found on Hobbes;
./pub/os2/util/system:
assoed04.zip 38548 Jul 8 11:28 AssoEdit
inspect/modify file associations

type >HELP EAUTIL at the command line;
Allows you to split (save) extended attributes from a file and then
rejoin the extended attributes to the file.
EAUTIL --- datafile --+------------+---+---------------+---
+- holdfile -+ +- /S -+------+-+
| +- /R -+ |
+- /J -+------+-+
+- /O -+
+- /M -+
----------+------+---------------------------------------+
+- /P -+
An extended attribute is a mechanism that allows an application to
attach information to a file or directory (file system object).
Extended attributes are used to describe the object to another
application, to the operating system, or to the file system program
that manages the file or directory.
