Hallo, Jim! 02.02.97
Finally I've found time reading my new great books by Joseph Burchac.
I'm really happy having followed your recommandations about these books
and having ordered them:
1.Native american stories
2.Native american animal stories
3.Flying with the eagle, racing the great bear
4.The girl who married the moon
5.The story of the milky way
6.The earth under sky bears feet
1 and 2 are very nice illustrated short tales, arranged in thematic
chapters like creation, earth, water, seasons, celebration,..., naming
indian nations, with forewords by N. Scott Momaday(1) and Vine Deloria(2),
illustrations by John Kahionhes Fadden.
3 and 4 are not illustrated longer tales about boys/men(3) and girls/
women(4), arranged in cultural region chapters with a special introduction
each.
5 is a pretty illustrated(Virginia A. Stroud) picture children's book
about a Cherokee tale.
6 is a collection of native american poems of the land is illustrated with
large pictures of Thomas Locker, not only a children's book.
So now it's proofed that I can trust your recommendations!
Thank you.
Monika
