subject: your blocks

Hi Pat,
PK>The next "Trip" I do will be with the strip method. If I do another
I think that I might do one more. But that is way down the line. I
have too many projects already started. Hopefully, I can turn some of
them into FO's this week.
PK>one! The only quilts I have made more than one of so far is the Pinwheel,
PK>which I made three of because I made so many blocks, and the Sampler. But
PK>then each Sampler has different blocks in it so they aren't really the
PK>same!
I know what you mean about having too many blocks made. I had started
making bowtie blocks a couple of years ago. I wanted each to be a
different fabric. So each time I bought fabric, I cut bowtie squares
from it before it was put away. Then every once in a while I would sew
up blocks. During my last session, I realized that I had enough blocks
for a quilt top. (full size) So I took them with me to quilt group to
lay them out. I had enough blocks left over to make another lap size
quilt top!
PK> SL> I hope to get something done on the Valentine quilt today. I
PK> SL> should be able to finish the buttonhole stitch, add the border, and
PK> SL> get it basted. Hopefully, tomorrow I will be able to get most of
PK> SL> the quilting done on it.
Well, I didn't get it finished in time for Valentines day. With
spending two days in Provo for my daughters state swim meet, I didn't
get as much done as I had hoped. I did get the borders on, basted it,
and started quilting on it Sunday. I am about a quarter of the way done
with the quilting in the center. It only has a small two inch border so
that should go quickly too. But I showed it to Paul, and it will be
done a lot sooner than the last Valentines quilt I made him. That one
wasn't done for at least 6 months after V-day.
BTW, I don't think that Julia is checking in much, but for her MQBE does
she want a square of muslin signed along with her 6 inch block? I
finished the block yesterday, and wasn't sure. I hope to get all my
exchange blocks done and in the mail this week. I will probably also
send out my March fat quarters. I haven't seen any messages from the
Feb. birthday girls regarding their fat quarters. Is it just messages
that I am not seeing? I still haven't seen a single message from
Brenday Burwell. My sysop says it is somewhere between that the
messages are not getting through. Also, I don't remember seeing Doris
list her received fat quarters. Did I miss the message, or has she just
been too busy to even think about it?
Thanks for all your help,
Sylvia
