DJ> Back in february of 1969, in avengers 63,marvel made a bold move, that
DJ> was'nt well acepted by most old fans.Hank Pym,Abandoned his goliath
DJ> identity, to become yellowjacket, while Hawkeye took a swig of his
DJ> growth formula, grabbed one of his funkier costumes, & became the new
DJ> goliath. Up to the end of 71, he was goliath, but the fans just never
DJ> warmed up to him as a giant. Looking back now,he
DJ> made a decent goliath.
What I hated most about 60's Marvel was that it seemed that the heroes were
trading off their idenities with each other. like Goliath become Yellow
Jacket, Hawkeye becomes Goliath, Ant-Man becomes Giant-Man, Yellow Jacket
becomes Ant-Man, and so-on. I wouldn't mind it if a new character would have
picked up the old idenity, rather than doing an apparel exchange.
I always like Yellow Jacket better than Goliath or Giant-Man, but I guess if
Henry Pym originated as Giant-Man, it would be logical that Marvel would put
him back into that outfit to get back to basics. My idea is to let Pym take
one of the alter-egos and have two other new characters to assume the other
two idenities in the same image as Pym.
I guess I could always dream!
