it seems to work perfectly fine in the years it has been being used... granted
the software does not purport to even implement FTS-0009... if it did, then i
would agree with you wholeheartedly...

AFAIK, it was started by some external BBS editor in an effort to get their
software also listed in the stream of message manipulation... it tells what
software created the message without using the tear line and dealing with the
tear line wars...
