Welcome to the 21st century! We (actually my wife, Mary Jane) have a
camera that uses the SD card, and we have 2 readers that are USB attached
and work flawlessly with both SD and the CF card that my own Nikon camera
uses. Lexar "Multi-card reader" was available at Walmart [US - $20 USD]
not that long ago, and I have a [now obsolete] Kodak 6-in-1 reader that
also works well. The os2warp.be site ( http://www.os2warp.be/ ) may be
helpful in identifying readers that work. I know I had one (fortunately
returned for a refund) that didn't work, although I didn't try it on the
dark side so don't know if it was defective or just incompatible with OS2.
Lots of help here and other lists on getting it going. Some things to
keep in mind:
1. Better to grab images from the card using a file manager or even a cmd
line copy rather than the WPS. There've been reports of problems when
people have used WPS to copy files and then the card is corrupted by an EA
file that the camera doesn't understand.
2. You must EJECT the card before physically removing it. This is done
either by a right click on the icon and selecting eject, or using EJECT x:
from the cmd line. [Don't expect the card to pop out of the reader when
you do this - ]. This is not unique to OS2 - it's bitten Winusers in
the butt also.
