Hi Jim:

Well yes and no to the connectors being the same.

My HP Omnibook had an IBM Drive and now has a Hitachi Drive.

The conectors off the drive were the same.

The "Disk Caddy" does the conversion to fit the drive to the Omnibook.

The drive pinoouts and the "Disk Caddy" pinouts were very different.

When takeing the "Disk Caddy" off the old drive the screws were
very small and take it easy ou you can break the plastic

What model of Laptop have you?
