this is incorrect... i have a couple of standard 8bit serial cards here
that i have replaced the clock crystal on with one of 2x the original
value... everything they do is 2x the normal operation... 230400 is an
operational serial port speed... note also that there are several
manufacturers that sell boards that go this high and higher...
