"Two steps backward, one step forward." That's not the prescription for
getting ahead. But it dominated the day, three times. Volume stayed up
at +21% above average. Needless to say, my dithering timing signal
reversed itself again--it's really better telling us when a move is over
than when it starts. That's OK, I didn't believe it yesterday anyhow.
For the past few days prices have been tip-toeing along just above the
50-day moving average like an NFL receiver on the sideline. I think the
Street knows it, and they're reluctant to give up, letting it sink
below. Let it go! I don't see any exciting reason to commit to the
market at this point. Oh, if I was a Dollar Cost Averager, I'd keep
doing it. But, new money, actively trading stocks, naw. Matter of
fact, I think a brief nap would be just the thing right now.

Timing Signals: I don't use or recommend timing signals, but they're
fun to watch. If I did though, well, I might use something like this.
(Be warned!! It tends to whipsaw around signal points!)
