Might have missed putting it on then, look for ecasound, and if I remember 
correctly there is a "sound" directory there somewheres, if not,
don't panic 
 I am busy compiling a Linux sound utilities CD, too many bits an pieces 
on too many CD's, and it will make my life easier to collect then all in one 
place, when that is finished, I'll write you one as well.

No doudt you are learning a lot, but it is taking time, and my objective is 
usually to get a system working/fixed as soon as possible.

That will depend on how long it takes you to sort out your problems, and how 
long before Slackware take to release Version 9.0.
