I've now made a couple of photos on glossy paper. The source
was two .jpgs made from two different digital cameras.

Now I have to qualify my statements because the definition of
"decent color" is going to have an opinion element involved.
I'm no photo or multimedia professional, so my experience is
simply a matter of subjective comparison between what I'm seeing
coming out of the 2550 and my previous Lexmark 5700 ink jet
(now deceased). I think it's about as good.

As far as quality is concerned, I think you're going to have to
go into a store and get it demonstrated. Don't just look the
demo page; that's a set-up.

Personally, I think that this printer is a keeper, particularly
at the Staples price. The 2550 is a solidly built beastie (read
big and heavy). The greatest advantage in my point of view is
there are are no ink cartridges to dry out. It will take a
while before I can learn what the life of the four toner units
is. Postscript seems to be a big plus. It also has a built in
networking connection and comes with the secondary tray on the
bottom.

Cheers/2,

Jerry
