Glad you got to Alaska. How about telling us of your trip? I suspect that the
aircraft are lovingly maintained because of the forbidding territory they
must often cross. I am doing a reconstruction of a crash at Nome and the
airport information page shows aviation fuel is $3.00/gallon. When I drove my
son's van from Denver to Fairbanks (3200 miles) 2 years ago, I too seen some
very beat-up vehicles in the bush, especially coming in from Canada's Yukon
Territory. Fuel in Alaska was much cheaper than in Canada at that time.
Anything interesting at Elemendorf? My son will be going back to Eileson AFB
in the near future to complete his project there. I seen many of your
countrymen visiting Denali National Park and one had a surplus German Army
