John,
It just ain't ovloV drivers. I have had a couple of close calls with =
rice-burner drivers over the last several days. Thursday night was the =
closest. I am coming north on Bartles Corner Road to a T-intersection =
with River Road in Flemington. The drivers on River Road have a stop =
sign. As I approach the intersection one car makes a mad dash to make = the
left had turn in front of the car ahead of me and I am surprised = when
those two vehicles don't wreck, and I am off the throttle. Then I = am
eyeing the next car trying to make that left turn off River Road. = Seems
to be waiting for me to go by and then at the last second starts = moving
in to the intersection. I am all over the brakes, can't move to = the left
because of on coming traffic, the truck is half sideways, she = finally
sees me and stops, I am waiting for the cur-runch to happen, and = it
doesn't. I still don't know how I missed her. Now that we are both =
stopped safely, I motion for her to back-up so I can get around her. She =
then realizes how close she came to have 6+ tons of FedEx Express truck =
plowing in to her and gets hysterical and won't even move the vehicle. =
Manage to inch my way around her. Make my next two stops and come back =
thru the same intersection. I could still smell the tire smoke 15 = minutes
later.
And then Friday night in the snow storm, on the same road, another idiot =
in a Japanese make made a left hand turn in front of me. But her the =
problem wasn't that I was close to hitting her, but that she decided = that
she should have waited and then hit the gas to make sure she would = be
clear. Of course she lost control, started fish tailing in my = direction,
then over-corrected, and ended up in a snow bank on her side = of the road.
I had slowed down far enough that she could have easily = made the turn
with out the extra throttle.
Please note this isn't a comment on female drivers. It is that the last =
two incidents happened to involve them. Believe me that I have had my =
share of issues with male drivers as well.

LOL ... true, too true!
(I still remember the Canopus story about a Canopian driving down the =
road
with a bunch of kids in his car. Up ahead, a car (ovloV) pulls off on =
to
the shoulder. Canopian immediately slows down to a crawl. Suddenly, =
the
car simply shoots out pulling a u-turn right in front of Canopian's =
car.
Kid in the passenger seat looks over at the Canopian driver with a =
look of
awe on his face, the full expression saying (without words): Man! =
How did
you know enough to anticipate that!?!?! )
