Yes that bit has always worked correctly, it's other bits that have failed in that particular diagnostic. I'll soon find out about the OEM Win 95 release on this machine as it appears it'll install on this one, NEC - Pentium 1. WC> However as my system _is_ correctly configured MSD WC> reports just fine. No experience, just some dealers on Ebay are advertising some as non-parity implying to me there must be a parity version, perhaps not. Forgot about counting the chips, that'll work. Hey guess what, I benefit from technically inept people yet once again! Donated to me today was a 433 MHz Celeron with 96 Meg. of RAM the owner and several supposedly technically profficient people had examined and gave up on. A new system was acquired and I got this H.P. Pavilion. Not up on the net with it yet but have reinstalled Windows 98 and all bundled software which is more than anyone else has been able to do. Now I have to seek out a dialer or configuration file as all there is is some really retarded automated system for setting up to your ISP which I've no clue about. Oh yeah, 56K soft modem, sound and a card suitable for hooking up DSL came with the package!!! I still want that RAM for the Pentium 1 but have yet another project machine. Now I have to figure out how to delete a whole slew of bloat that is on the install disk that came with the computer. Believe it or not all setup disks, software keys and manuals accompanied the system which was laid at my doorstep partially disassembled . --- MultiMail/PBellDOS v0.42* Origin: FidoTel & QWK on the Web! www.fidotel.com (1:275/311) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 275/311 10/345 379/1 633/267 |
