DN> The install instructions for 0.9b, which I have in front of
DN> me, ran 8 pages of A4 (U.S. Letter, more or less) paper. That

i did actually print out these install docs from 0.9d... all the previous
versions i only did the runtime libraries as everything i was running was
already compiled... the latest precompiled of Apache that i have does not
(apparently) include some of the modules that i had previously... so when i
saw the full 0.9d in one archive on hobbes, i decided to grab the one huge
file and try to make a go of it so that i might at least attempt to compile
in the mods that i want in Apache

ml>>actually, i as can tell, emx and gcc are already made...

DN> That has changed significantly. My copy of 0.9c required an
DN> earlier copy be installed to build it. That install was even
 DN> more convoluted than 0.9b.

that's why i only did the runtime stuffs before...

ml>>i was attempting to make dmake to test that... i have been
ml>>back thru it more and i think i need header files from some
ml>>toolkit??

DN> EMX contains its own version of the OS/2 header files. I don't
DN> know what else DMAKE might need to compile.

hummm... i'll try to recompile again and see if i can capture the
outputs... i'm thinking that i might have to do something like (from
memory) dmake &2>>&1>comp.txt or whatever it is that i do
to grab STDERR as well as STDOUT... at least i _think_ that's what i need
to do... just doing a simple redirect, dmake > comp.txt didn't give me
any error messages like i was wanting...

ml>>oh yes... like i say above, i've actually compiled some few
ml>>things with it but until i can get dmake or bake or
ml>>something that works to make with, i'm kinda lost... i
ml>>remember reading about bake when it came out... if it'll
ml>>work with "normal" make files, maybe i'll try to bake
ml>>everything instead of making them... i like cooking better
ml>>than i do laboring anyway, hahaha...

DN> Yes, bake is quite a handy make utility, and the makefiles are
DN> a doddle to code. You can take an existing makefile and reduce
DN> it to bake format very easily.

i'll play some more and see what i can come up with... i'm also going to
junt around and see if i can locate that os2.h file... when i was making
this attempted 0.9d version of dmake, i seem to remember something about
duplicate definitions or something along those lines... i'll try to make it
again and grab all the output and maybe post it here for assistance...
