It did. This discussion is not about formatting at any level. It's low
level configuration, choosing a translation scheme for DOS compatible
operating systems to think they are using. Your laptop drive is unlikely
to have more than 4 real heads. 63 sectors is also pure translation
fiction. Drives have been using zonal sectoring for 20 years, with few
sectors on inner tracks and many sectors on outer tracks. Google LBA if
you want the details. It's ancient news.
