BW>I found myself with a Word for Windows 6.0 document that I had to
BW>get into readable form; and the only way I could do it was by using
BW>the Word document viewer available via www/ftp from Microsoft then
BW>"printing" it to a flat file, using the Generic printer driver in
BW>Windows. Mickeysoft has a conversion program to get files from WP
BW>format to Word format, but not to go the other way. Corel doesn't
BW>seem to have anything other than whatever's included in the current
BW>version of WPW.
Maybe I can get an upgrade to Magellan that will let me save it as an ASCII
file,
BW>I checked Corel's ftp site last night and found the 61TO51 archive
BW>on it, but I didn't find that of the additional conversion drivers
BW>for the cv.exe that was originally included with WPD 5.1+, nor is
BW>there any indication of the then-impending Convertperfect 2.0 the
BW>61T051 refers to on the web site. (There's a problem with the www
BW>link to the ftp site, so you have to go to it directly.) The only
BW>DOS WordPerfect product shown on the web site is WPD 5.1+, BTW --
BW>no indication whatsoever of any WPD 6.* version.
I thought it was in the listing of the ZIP archive that you posted on Nov.
16; but looking back at it, I see that there is a CVX for 5x but not 6.
BW>[I also learned I'd recently purchased current versions of Quattro
BW>Pro (6.0) and DrawPerfect (3.0) for Windows for $15 each at Office
BW>Depot, found in a collection of special purchases and closeouts on
BW>a recent visit .]
Thanks for the tip. Guess I'll stop by Office Depot and Staples, and see what
I can find in their closeouts bin.
