A very good afternoon to you Greg
Op 01 Jan 98 12:25 you wrote something about *HiFi VCR/Surround sound*...

Well...if you want to use Dolby Pro Logic there is no need to replace your
VCR...Dolby Prologic signals are dereived from a (encoded)
stereosignal...your only need is a seperate Prologic encoder/decoder.
If you prefer Dolby-5.1 (5 digital full range channels) then you'll need a
recorder that supports it......I haven't seen them yet...by the way, DVD
should be already supporting Dolby-5.1 and MPEG-surround...this for what I've
heard anyway.
Most of the stereo videotapes I've seen were Prologic encoded....also
playable on stereosystems of course....maybe that's the reason why it is so
widely used.
Greetingzetcetera, Thom
