Well...if you want to use Dolby Pro Logic there is no need to replace your
VCR...Dolby Prologic signals are dereived from a (encoded)
stereosignal...your only need is a seperate Prologic encoder/decoder.
If you prefer Dolby-5.1 (5 digital full range channels) then you'll need a
recorder that supports it......I haven't seen them yet...by the way, DVD
should be already supporting Dolby-5.1 and MPEG-surround...this for what I've
heard anyway.
Most of the stereo videotapes I've seen were Prologic encoded....also
playable on stereosystems of course....maybe that's the reason why it is so
widely used.
