Yes, the emx install process is extremely well thought through. If you can
get it installed, you are certain to make it as a C/C++ programmer.

I presume you are still trying to build emx, rather than being in a position
to build Apache.

I don't use DMAKE, but all make utilities require a makefile of some sort.
Did you find the emx makefile?

I found the simplest way to install emx was to follow the instructions
exactly. This gives a compiler and linker that sort of work. I then went
through and placed everything in more sensible directories and updated my
CONFIG.SYS accordingly and re-booted.

Have you re-booted as part on installing emx? It is usually essential,
especially if you plan _not_ to overwrite an existing copy.
