I have a couple of friends in Sheffield.  I knew them before they were
going out together, and they're now grandparents.

Her father had a minor dental operation.  When he went back for a check
after a week, the dentist found a lump behind his jaw.  He was seen by his
GP the same afternoon and referred to Sheffield Hallam.  He was seen the
next day (a Friday) and the lump was diagnosed as "suspicious". 
They said they would give him the next cancelled slot - he was called on
Sunday afternoon and asked to attend Milton Keynes General Hospital on
Monday afternoon.  They operated on Tuesday morning and released him on
Wednesday morning.

My involvement was "grandad sitting" - the family had a holiday
booked and I was asked to look after grandad and house for a week.
